Designed by architect Javier Senosiain of Arquitectura Organica, the Nautilus House is one of his best known projects to pay a tribute to marine life over millions of years they have inhabited this planet, the nautilus.
Based on the study of plant and animal structures, this wonderful design, whimsical home in Mexico City is taking the aquatic life in architecture. Thus, the volume of the house is shaped like a shell in one of its side stands a huge multi-colored glass windows that filter into the house the sun in a very subtle.
This nature-inspired House has an impressive entrance whimsical sculpture cut in a wall of stained glass. From the outside, is sufficient to attract, while the interior gets multi-colored spots of light on the walls.
The vegetation gets inside the house in a very discreet, but gradually grows to form a series of indoor gardens that seem to embrace household furnishings, also designed by the architect Senosiain.
But, surprisingly, that’s still not the most unusual feature of the house. This interior “carpet grass” is only for residents of amazing, leading and guests through a network of stone roads for different areas of the house. The bathroom is simply amazing. It actually feels as if under water with sand walls, magnificent blue tiles and the overhead window.
This house cool meets “ferrocement constructio“, which consists of a structure of steel-reinforced chicken wire covered with a layer of two inches of cement composite. Not only is the beautiful result, it is also earthquake-proof and maintenance free.
Senosiain architect’s works, are of extraordinary warmth and beauty, almost all of them involve the user in environments with high brightness and color, full of details. The modern Nautilus House is wonderful to see, go and enjoy what it is – a mixture of modern and contemporary art. And now just enjoy the pictures of the Nautilus House!
